Studio Project: Bach's B Minor Mass

I spotted this report in the Yale Alumni Magazine. It described a music “happening” at New Haven’s Union Station in April:

“It started with a cello and a keyboard, but soon an ensemble of strings, a full choir, tympani, and trumpets, filled New Haven’s Union Station with the strains of  Dona Nobis Pacem from Bach’s Mass in B Minor."

It was the Yale Institute of Sacred Music’s Version of a “flash mob,” a seemingly impromptu public happening. It surprised everyone waiting in the Station. The students seemed to just drift into the Station singing.

This is a WONDERFUL video. The music is sublime. Watching the people react with astonishment is terrific. It is a MUST SEE.!!! You can click on the link to the video:
